Kerrie beet

this is the recipe I used, and it makes an awesome kerrie beet. Its really easy to make as well.

You will need:

    500 ml brown vinegar
    750 ml sugar
    1,5 kg's beetroot, chopped into blocks
    2 large onions, finely chopped
    15 ml Curry powder
    5 ml salt
    3 Tbsp Maizena, mixed with a little water to a paste

Method:
Mix the sugar and vinegar and heat until sugar is dissolved, bring to the boil. Add onion and beetroot. Simmer for 10 minutes, add curry and salt, and simer for a further 5 minutes. Add Maizena and stir until the liquid is thicker and smooth. Bottle warm and cap while warm.

You don't get it easier than that..  :hehehe:

Sounds yummy. I'm definately gonna try it. I wouldn't want to make so much though, so I'll adapt the recipe for a smaller amount.

Ameniatha how strong are they? Very burny or not so much?

I just need to check so I know how much to adjust the curry powder by.

Its not too hot. It has a nice bite, but ofcourse a milder curry would also work very well. ;)
