Hi guys i would like to ask you to please send some energy to my son and i will do a spell as wel to encourage speech, i got it from CM, i know i can tell you guys because you will not look down on me, i dont know why i am so stressed out about this, but he is getting speech classes every Monday, they say he is on a 2year 9month level end he is turning 4 end of October, i know its just that he struggles to comunicate, but he is really clever he under stands very well but cant express.I am just telling because i want to get it out, and its really sad for me, i think all of us wants our children to be the best, i dont preasure my son, i just need to talk to him alot so that he will listen and speak, but the other thing the reason for the energy is, that i need to go test his ears to see it he does not have a problem there, so i know it will go well and with your energy and mine i know the test will go very well.Thank you for reading

Shame Frayja, sounds stressful!
Will send him some love
-
Sending.
-
Our babies can make is stress, I'm sure he'll be fine and catch up in no time with the extra attention that's gonna be given to him. Just take it one day at a time and try not to stress too much about it.
I found that reading to my children and teaching them rhymes and songs helped a lot. I made bath time and 10 minutes before bed story and song time, even at dinner we sing the roof off. Lol, I'm one of those mums that doesn't care about sounding crappy, I do it loud and proud.
-
Shame Frayja, I will definately send. I'm glad you told us, its certainly nothing to be ashamed of, as far as I know, there are a lot of genius types out there who had some or other kind of learning problem or other kind of 'impediment'.
Just keep working with him, that will help and he'll really enjoy the time you spend with him too so that will help his esteem as well.
-
Strength to you frayja, I know what it is like to have a child that is a bit behind in one area- it can be stressful.
-
Strongs to you frayja
-
Strength to you frayja. Will send energy.
-
Thank you so much every one its nice having you guys as friend who understand, and some of you that had this tipe of stress, i am going to work with him every day, he gets frastrated a lot, but i will take it slow, and i am going to let him do karate as well the lady there say its really good for children and help them develop and ruan likes it alot, i think that will help him consentrate as well.
Blessings to all of you

Karate is awesome for kids, it helps them instill discipline as well.
i dont know if this will help, but my brother only starting talking very late, and it was because he didnt have to . The whole family would give him stuff if he pointed to it, and his sisters figured out his body language so he never needed to talk.
Eventually they had to make a point of not giving him stuff unless he asked for it properly
-
Fraya, by sharing you relieve some of your anxiety - which is always good - I will send some energy, but don't stress over this too much until you have had his hearing checked. My grandson turns 3 the end of August and has only now started talking properly and using short sentences. What I did was as Rowan said, not give him anything unless he asked properly and stopped mom, dad and his older brother from interpreting for him and also told them to drop their habit of finishing the few sentences he tried for him.

thank you for all your help and advice will take al of them, going to a free karate class next week so that he can see what he will be doing, he did get karate classes but it was just play at hes other school, this school his going to is really good and they are well known. The docter said today that before i go test his ears, we first have to take out his (magels) dont know what its in english lol sorry, because he has so much sinus proplems that all that is pushing to his ears and that is why he cant here properly, sorry for my spelling today, had a not so nice day really tired. So next week that is going to take place taking that stuff out and then he will not get so sick any more and ear infections, so we will see how that goes .

I think mangels is tonsils....
If they suggest putting grommets in his ears, please do lots of research and get another opinion at least before going ahead with it, cause I know sometimes that can cause problems.
-
Aww shame, next week?? Poor baby! Jip, a lot of little problems will disappear when they take his tonsils out, I wish I can take my children so they can have theirs removed.
-
I hope the tonsil removal goes well and does solve all the little issues.
Have to confess my tonsillitis gave up on me when I refused to take them out and refused to take antibiotics. Eventually went away for good.
-
The docter sayed that no gromets must be put in its not the way that is why they are taking out the little thing in his nouse dont know what that is called, all his problem will be gone, our house dokter is going to take all that out his really good.
-
I am more possitive now, thanks every one, i think all your energy yesterday made my son hiper lol, couldnt get him to sit still at the docter lol, but he slept like a baby thank you every one.
-
Glad to hear it's all going well with your son frayja

Well my friends all is well today and i am at peace.
-
Good one Frayja....glad he slept so well
They are always so cute when they sleep and when awaik little monsters that has you wraped around there finger lol
-
Arse about face from my point. If a child is not stimulated enough, problems may be encountered. PLease do not misunderstand me. Have you tried to stimulate him with things and data way above his age?
-
I have edicational toys for him that he play with, but i always get the toys accordenly to his age, dont think its a good idea to push him if that is not his age and it mite be difficalt toys and it mite frastrate him. Really sorry about spelling today

Frayja: dont fret too much over your sons speech problem. my oldest daughter was sent to occupational thereapy because the school and social workers said she had a hearing problem, a speech problem, (Which they said stemmed from me as I have no teeth and they said MY speech affected hers... pffft, no one even knows I have no teeth until I give a wide grin or tell them, my speech is perfect), and after tests were done I was told, by the OT, that Gizelle had excellent speech and hearing. She had also suffered terribly when small with ther tonsils and was to have grommets put in her ears. The great Anaethetic and medical strike occured when she was scheduled for her op so it was deffered until further notice - and in that time it came right on its own, after 5 years of hell!!!!
The OT also said she was 1 year behind on some skills and 6 months on others, etc, etc, etc and one reason for her 'behihnd' was that her drawings were stick-like, at which I burst out laughing grabbed a piece of paper and a crayon and drew a picture for the OT. I then showed her MY stick-like drawing and asked her what I was behind in, considering I have an IQ of 140 and passed the MENSA test!!! I then told her that these assessments are all BUNKUM as some people just aren't artistic - like me!!!
I homeschooled my kids but at a later date was forced to put them into mainstream schooling and the 3 little ones were assessed. They then said Zachary and Ariel were ADD and SinJin was ADHD. I promptly denied that Zachary was, I already knew that the other 2 had problems, I HAD been homeschooling them myself and had seen this already. They insisted Zachary was as well. I told them to hang on and give him a chance to adjust to school, he was just having a problem with adjusting. After a while I proved them right. Zachary is now top of his class and my 'little boy genius'
The long and the short of it is - dont fret, he is young and these things may pass - and he may surpass his age group. YOU will know, deep inside, whether there is really a problem.
With SinJin he had 3 older siblings, 2 parents and a grandparent interpreting his signs and body language so he was VERY slow to start talking until I put my foot down and stopped everyone from responding until he had asked or told or whatever VERBALLY!!! Now I cant get the brat to SHUTUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, honest, dont let it all stress you out too much.
-
WOW what a story Zephyr, i take my hat off to you, i am not going to stress any more, Ruan is clever he just struggling to comunicate well but i do understand him  I know he will be fine, thanks for sharing your story it makes me more calm about every thing.
-
He will be fine...
Maybe you understand him to well, and therefore he doesnt need to speak
-
Rowan that is what i think, see i understand him but others dont, and that is the thing we need to fix that others will understand him to.
-
Smile, it will sort itself out...Lets be completely honest about it, there are very few teenagers who cant talk!!!
-
lol that is true
