I agree we don't know the man and thats partly why I felt it was in bad taste, but also because I don't think that Farrah or God would think that way either

Mmmmmm! I help sponsor an orphanage. Every weekend 72 kids spontaneously descend, unescorted, upon my abode to learn the ancient art of the `braai'. I thank the Singular Collective that I am not rich and famous or I too would be labeled "Paedophile".
I can't say that I liked MJ. I disliked his music and I certainly saw no entertainment in his dancing. This does not deter from the fact that he did me no harm, so I will remain silent on his (reported) life-style.
See you at the next incarnation MJ. Hope they give you a `white' body next time. You'll save a fortune in plastic surgery.

Jislaaik, my husband kept on sms'ing me MJ jokes today... they're apparently going to turn him into Lego blocks so that children can play with him for a change...

I am so sick of all the hoopla about him. I'm sorry, didn't know him, so don't really give a damn about the fact he's dead.
No wait, I do care, because its making my life miserable because all the radio stations are playing his songs all the time, and I dont have a CD player in my car.

We had people at work crying FFS, I just don't get it. yes he was a musical icon ,but he was also conflicted and stuffed in the head.
Call me a bitch, but I just don't give a damn.

And Grif maybe the joke was in bad taste, but I thought it was funny.

I don't like him as a person, but as a entertainer, he was amazing. I guess I'm just hung up on the "don't speak ill of the dead thing" and what got me the most about Giff's joke was that it assumed that Farah and God would think horrible thoughts.....

I think its sad that he's dead, but I'm certainly not gonna cry or be devastated or anything and I am already sick about hearing about it, but still don't think that jokes in bad taste about any kind of death or disaster are right (like all the jokes about the starving ethiopians, or tsunami jokes etc etc etc)

Satyr that was not a dig at you.

I sadly have a sick sense of humour, so tend to find inappropriate jokes funny. Its a sad failing, yet I try to live with it :biggrin:

Don't worry hehehe, I know it wasn't. I also think that the reactions of some people are totally over the top, I mean, its not like they were related to him or anything. I've just been wondering what's gonna happen to his poor kids now, and what was his money situation, was he bankrupt, will there be money for those kids to live on and if so, will people come out of the woodwork to claim them. If, as its rumoured, they werent' even his biological children, what about the biodads......

Yeah Satyr thats true...

I am just sick of all the hype, even 702 was playing his songs all day...and they aren't a music station damnit!!

I feel for his family, but then I feel for the family of anyone who has lost a loved one.

i was also thinking about the kids, because the mom gave up all claim to them, didn't she? Could be a very messy situation, but hopefully he has a airtight will and has made good provisions for them , both financially and with regard to who will care for them

Re the 'michael jackson is still alive' thing, I have already been thinking that possibly what killed him, was the stress of knowing that his concerts he was supposed to be doing would be a failure (I really don't think he could live up to his own legend at this point in his life) and the thought did cross my mind that he might go as far as faking his own death to avoid the public humiliation of a failed 'tour'. I think his failure at this tour would be something that he could never recover from if it had happened.
