1. Angel/Angels from Greek Word “Angelos” meaning “messenger/messengers.” Angelos was the name of a Greek god associated with Sun-worship.

FyreByrde: To my knowledge “angelous” is not a Greek god of the sun. Just a word.

2. Sunday was the day set aside in the Mithra (Roman) cult as its official day to assemble together to worship its Sun-deity. Roman Emperor Constantine legislated Sun-day as a day of rest dedicated to the Greek and Roman Sun-god, Helios. Constantine worshiped “Christos Helios” which means “Christ-The-True-Sun.” The Roman Catholic Church venerates Sun-day as its Sabbath even today, and has handed it down to Christianity.

3. Lord comes from the old English spelling of “Lard” which comes from “Lar/Larth Lares,” Estruscan and Roman deities associated with Sun-worship. The Greek word “Kurios” was originally a title for the Greek and Roman Sun-deity “Helios” and was called “The Kurios (Lord) of Heaven and Earth.” The Hindu god “Krishna” is also known as “Lord.” The title “Lord” was eventually applied to all heathen deities. Most Bible translators continue to use the title “Lord” as a substitute name for YHVH (Yahweh).

FyreByrde: The Lares were tutelary deities, who were also protectors of the household (ephigies usually placed near the front door). Not sun gods.

4. Jesus comes from the Greek name “Iesous/IHSOUS” and Latin “Iesus.” “Iesous” is adapted from the name of the Greek goddess of healing “Iesos/Iaso,” the daughter of Apollo, the Sun-deity. This goddess was linked to the Egyptian “Isis” who had a son named “Isu.” During the era of Roman Emperors, there were numerous worshippers of “Isis.” Many converted to Constantine’s religion that mixed Paganism with the Messianic faith that eventually became the Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic Church continues to use the sunburst emblem known as the “Eucharist” which to this day contains the Greek letters “IHS” for “IHSOUS.” Further research reveals that the name “Jesus” is also linked to the Greek Sun-god “Zeus” who was the Greek interpretation of the Egyptian Sun-god “Amen-Rah.”

5. God, Gad, Gud are all interrelated names. God was a common Teutonic-Germanic word that was applied to superhuman beings of heathen mythologies. Later the word “God” was adopted by Christianity as the generic name for the Supreme Being. It has become the most popular translation for the Hebrew word “Elohim.” As a result, most of Christendom believes that the Name for Elohim is “God” and does not know that the personal Name of the Father is YAHWEH. Gad was the Babylonian/Canaanite/Syrian deity of “Good Luck” or “Fortune,” also called “Meni,” the god of “Destiny” who was regarded as the “Lord Moon.” The city of Gad was named after this deity. Gad was identified with Jupiter, the Sun-deity, and applied to Nimrod whose general character was that of a Sun-god or Sun-divinity. Gud was the Anglo-Saxon name for “good god” vs. an “evil god.”

FyreByrde: Nimrod, in Jewish tradition was more of a hero – a bit like Hercules or Achilles, but not demi-god.

Who/what is the Divine?
For a Christian, it would translate into the alpha and omega (beginning and end). A Jew might be a bit more philosophical – one translation of Jehovah, for instance means “to be”.

For myself (being Wiccan), the divine translates into the sum total of all energy…and everything and everyone is energy; therefore you are all Godly beings, every tree and rock is part of you and your Divine conscious. There is thus no such thing as the woman down in the street being hurt – you are being hurt, your God is being hurt…do something about it.

Seeing the Divine in such a broad term does make worshiping very abstract, so the Divine is often divided into a male and female aspect – God and Goddess, Lord and Lady.
-The Lord
Known as the Great Horned God (also Cernunnos, Pan, Faunus, Lucifer, Baal etc) and is seen as being manifested by the Sun. The major attributes attached to The Horned One are lust and protector of nature. [the image of a Horned God comes from ancient human beings - they hunted horned animals, so it was logical that the God helping them hunt would have horns. The attribute of hunting was replaced greatly by protector of nature when humans started planting crops and hunting was less important]
-The Lady
Known as the Trinity Goddess and is seen as being manifested by the Earth and Moon. The major attribute of the Lady is fertility. [in ancient times, women were associated with fertility as they had physical signs of pregnancy. The Goddess' function later on also included the fertility of crops and domesticated animals]

Now, these two aspects are still very broad – so, let’s add some more functions of what a God would do: (for example) He would be wise and strong. This can now be expressed by the archetype of Odin if you are drawn to the Nordic pantheon, or Thoth if you are drawn to the Egyptian pantheon. So one can go on and describe The Lord and Lady’s aspects by means of other Pagan Gods.

A few principles
- Wiccans (male and female) are known as witches
-Witchcraft is the manipulation of Energy to attain a certain goal
-We have Esbats (rituals done during full moon, and sometimes dark moon) as well as 8 Sabbats (these are related to the changing energy of the Male and Female aspects of the Divine as seen during seasonal changes)
-”An it harm none, do as ye will” is the summary of our laws
-A belief in karma (the law of Three Fold Return)

Wicca, as a religion, is a synergistic way of living and acknowledgment of the Divine nature of everything.

The word pagan comes from the Latin word Paganus, which literally means ‘country dweller’, he who lived in the low lands or country. The term was first used to distinguish between the upper-class rich person (city folk) and the ordinary person (country folk), who still worshipped the old Gods of pagus.

Pagus means Locality.

Paganism is a nature based spiritual path or belief system. The Belief system dates back to the old Gods of Europe, Africa, Egypt and Asia, North and South America as well as the cosmologies of the ancient tribes. The revival of the ancient nature religions seeks to create order from chaos through understanding nature. This is most commonly referred to as Neo-Paganism.

Pagans try to attune themselves to the tides of nature and the affects of the inner self. The harmonization with nature is achieved through reverence of the Solar and Lunar phases, which are acknowledged at the turning of each season. In ‘normal’ English, we attune ourselves with the eight seasonal changes, known most commonly to all Pagans as the Sabbats. The Sabbats marks the changes of season, of Divinity and of life. Through understanding the Sabbats you will understand the changes that all life, inevitably, go through with the turning of the year (or wheel of the year, as we call it). The Sabbats also tell us the story of the Divine couple. It acts as a biography for the Divine couple from which all life sets forth. The Most noted story of the Devine couple would of course be the ‘Descent of the Goddess’ that takes place at the start of the second harvest or Mabon, reaches its peak at the third Harvest, Samhain, and last all of the winter months.

The Sabbats are divided into two different groups. The Greater Sabbats and the Lesser Sabbats. Each group consists of four Sabbats.

The four Greater Sabbats, which are Lunar (Goddess) orientated, are:

Lammas – 2 February

Samhain – 30 April

Imbolc – 2 August

Beltaine – 1 November

The four Lesser Sabbats, which are Solar (God) orientated, are:

Mabon – 20 March

Yule – 21 June

Ostara – 21 September

Litha – 21 December

*Note: the dates of the lesser Sabbats may change by a day due to the differences in the actual astronomical events and our calendar.

When this is understood, then it is easy to comprehend the fact that all Pagans are Priestesses and Priests of nature. Nature itself is our Spiritual leader and our holy book. We have very little emphasis on dogma and liturgy. Now it can be understood why our worship mostly takes place in open natural spaces.

It is believed that all life has and will evolve. As Pagans we do not spend a lot of time on the concept of evolution. It is of some importance to know where we come from, but it is of far more importance to know where we are going. It should however be understood that the following of Paganism has evolved and will most probably continue to evolve in the future. We have evolved and adapted more sophisticated needs. A clear example of this would be a vegetarian. Some vegetarians, if asked why they do not eat meat, will say that it is against their religion. To them it is a different way of understanding the “An ye harm none” law. But if you look at their fore fathers, it can be guaranteed that they come from meat eaters. The ancients needed to hunt to be able to have food. Today we have evolved and learned that nature provides for us in many different ways and that we do not need to hunt animals to have food. Besides of course for the fact that we have convenient stores.

The practice of Paganism can be a highly solitary experience, where you are the only human being that has an influence on the relationship that you build with the Divinity, through your own form of personal worship. You could also join a small informal group and stay solitary, to learn more from others or whatever the reason may be. Of course you also have the option of joining an organized Coven, Shrine, Temple or Church, where you are a part of a bigger body of people that worship the Gods in a group format. This would also give you the option of a larger more organized study method where you can achieve different degrees or even clergy. Each of these has its advantages and disadvantages. The individual should stick with the type of practice that fits her/his needs.

*Note: some Shrines, Temples and Churches allow the individual to remain a solitary practitioner after joining. Thus joining would only be for study purposes.

A really big factor of Paganism is that, no matter what, we DO NOT evangelize, for such things cheapen the mysteries of the craft. Thus we do not force anybody to believe as we do, not even our own children. We understand and respect the fact that each individual has her/his own spiritual path that they have to follow and that we should not interfere with that path. All paths will lead to Deity. Our children are raised with the knowledge of the Pagan mysteries but should also be taught about the other religions that this world has to offer and then when the child is old enough to make an educated decision on what path to follow, the parents should support the child no matter what. Of course we would like for our children to follow on our footsteps, but it should be understood that, the path or ‘way’ that works for one person does not necessarily work for the next person.

This goes hand in hand with our practice of religious tolerance. As a pagan you should understand (as mentioned above) that each person has her/his own path or way to follow and that it should be respected and tolerated by us as pagans, we only ask for the same respect and tolerance from practitioners of other religions.

As Pagans we are open to the idea of solitary religious experiences and encounters of a free mindset. We do not judge or make fun of each other’s experiences; no matter how ‘daft’ or ‘unreal’ they may seem to be. The experiences and encounters that I have had in my life, are no less real than those of someone else. This does however not mean that everything we do is esoteric in nature. Not every minute of everyday necessarily has a ‘greater’ meaning. We are all different and our lives are different and that is a huge factor to remember when encountering another Pagan person. Remember that we live in a mundane world and even though we are a part of Deity we are still only human. The key is then to achieve balance between physical and Spiritual.

There is however one underlying factor that binds us all together, The Rule of Three. When you take all the religions in the world and place them next to each other, that will be the one thing that all of them have in common. The Hindi call it ‘Karma’. The Christians say that ‘You shall reap what you sow’. In Paganism we call it ‘The Rule of Three’.

“Ever mind the Rule of Three,

Three times what thou givest returns to thee.

This lesson, well thou must learn,

Thee only gets, what thou dost earn”

This does not necessarily mean that whatever you do will come back to you three times. For example: If you steal an apple, it does not mean that on three different occasions an apple will be stolen from you. But something with three times of the effect of what you have done or sent out will happen to you. The three should also not be seen as a literal, three times good and three rimes bad, but rather as an emphasis on the fact that, what will happen to you will be greater than that what you had done or sent out. Karma, as we also call it, should never be seen as a punishment or reward for something that you have done or sent out. It should be seen as a life lesson. Karma, except nature itself, is the best teacher of all. The most important lesson that Karma teaches us is the lesson of action and reaction, cause and effect. Some Christians calls it, promise and fulfillment and therefore see it as something from their God.

Modern Wicca or Neo-Wicca as it is called, elaborates the point of Karma in the Wiccan Rede where it says: “An ye harm none, do as ye will”. This very strict code allows Wiccans to do whatever they wish and at the same time it admonishes them to do harm unto anything including themselves.

In her book “To Stir a Magick Cauldron” SilverRavenWolf says:

“That my friend is the basis of the craft: Each individual is free to make choices for him or herself that will improve his or her environment, family, career and spirituality. People of the craft also have the power to remove things from their lives that impede their growth or cause danger to their well being. In essence, all Witches have control over their own lives and are responsible for their actions.”

Thus we do not confess sins to an intermediate, but rather take responsibility for our own actions. This can only be, if we practice self-control and when that is accomplished it is clear why we do not have any commandments.

And for all the above-mentioned reasons, we do not believe in the concept of original sin or the Christian Devil. Nowhere in any Pagan circle will you hear someone say that the Devil made them do something. You and only you are responsible for your actions. The devil is a Christian concept. He is the enemy of the Christian God and has nothing to do with Paganism.

Ultimately we believe that humans have more good in them than bad and if we can focus only on the good, we would be taking the first few steps of rebuilding Atlantis. Although we believe in the ultimate good in humanity, we are not blind nor denying the bad that some humans posses. Personally this bad is what I call the ‘Devils’ of this world.

While as a Pagan we believe in the power of reincarnation, we do not let it control our current lives. We do not elaborate on huge explanations or systems of operation for it. As mentioned before, where we are heading is far more important than where we come from. The only real focus is merely that we all have a common ground or souls resting place that we call ‘Summerlands’ (This is a Celtic word that means ‘resting place’). But because Paganism is such an individual belief you could of course name the souls resting place anything you like, as long as you know what you are talking about. Personally I call it Avalon.

Pagans have learned that all things in life are made up of energy. The entire Universe, everything that you can and can not see is all just energy. Even the most solid stone is made up of millions and billions of atoms that constantly orbit each other. This is part of the ancient maxim of “As above so below”. We live in a solar system that has many planets orbiting around the Sun, but everything in that solar system is in turn a universe because of the cells orbiting each other. Macrocosm and Microcosm. The planets that orbit around the Sun is the Macrocosm and every planet is a Microcosm.

In the esoteric way of life we have learned how to ‘manipulate’ these energy cells so that they ‘work’ for us. By altering our state of consciousness we thus begin to perform magick.

Scientists have shown that when you enter a trance state you no longer make use of your beta brain waves. There is a shift in consciousness and you then use your theta and delta brain waves, which are associated with sleep. The best way to describe this state of mind is the way that you feel when you have just woken up. You are awake and yet still asleep. The scientific name for this state of mind is called the hypnogogic state. It is also in this state of mind that you will ultimately have your best ideas. Sir Thomas Eddison invented the light bulb in this state.

When dealing with magick one should remember the ‘Rule of Three’ and if you are part of a Wiccan movement, ‘The Wiccan Rede’.

Also remember that true magick is neither black nor white. It is both because nature is both, both loving and cruel all at the same time. The only good or bad lies within the heart of the practitioner. It is also important to be careful what you ask for when performing magick, because you will get what you ask for. Be specific.

Pagans are great workers of ritual. It should be noted that ritual is not an escape from this world for us. We use ritual to celebrate our world and our lives and to harmonize with the Lunar and Solar phases. We ornate our rituals and our lives by the use of the four directions/elements.

East – Air

North – Fire

West – Water

South – Earth

And then there is the firth element, which is within us all, Spirit or Ether.

The elements carry characteristics that we use and need in our daily lives. Sometimes you hear someone saying that they are more of an earth person than a water person, for example. This only means, that person can relate to the characteristics of earth, better than the characteristics of water.

Within the realm of magick, the four directions are still accepted as categories of our world, while the fifth element cannot be perceived by normal physical senses, it is placed in the center of the circle and is represented by the practitioner.

These five elements represent the five points of our pentacle that most Pagans wear as a symbol that represents that – matter and spirit, are not separate entities, but are interlaced and on equal footing.

In his book “The Meaning of Witchcraft” Dr. Gerald Gardner says:

“The foundation of magical beliefs, of which witchcraft is a form, is that unseen Powers exist and that by performing the right sort of ritual these Powers can be contacted and either forced or persuaded to assist one in some way. People believed this in the Stone Age, and they believe it, consciously or not, today. It is now well-known that most superstition is in fact broken-down ritual.”

Ancient Paganism was regarded as a dead tradition since it was so violently suppressed by the then Christian (Roman Catholic) Church in the 4^th century. Paganism has since been underground, but surfaced in the early 1950’s. This was the start of the Neo-Pagan movement. Many people now celebrate the old Sabbats, give praise to the Earth and worship the Goddess and the God. But there is so much more to Paganism than “nature worship”.

Together with the worship of the old Gods, ancient Paganism taught the perennial spiritual philosophy of the spiritual Oneness. Although the world compromises many different things, actually all is one. The ultimate Oneness is beyond the power of our intellect, but we can experience it.

To understand the ultimate Oneness, one must first look at the different forms of Pagan understanding and belief of Divinity.

“It is because the one transcends all descriptions that you can form no conception of it, yet it is always present to those with strength to touch it” — Plotinus -

Some Pagans are Pantheistic. This means that they follow a multitude of Goddesses and Gods (i.e. the different pantheons of the different cultures such as Greece), while others follow their understanding of Divinity through one Great Spirit. And some Pagans seek religious understanding through experiencing the Divine as a couple. (i.e. Mother Goddess and Father God, would be the general terms). Most of us Pagans believe to understand the Divine as a couple. Now, the Divine couple is two different sides to the Ultimate Oneness. Essentially there is only one Divine being, to all religions. That is why all Goddesses are one Goddess and all Gods are one God and Both are One. As Pagans we divide the One into two different parts, Masculine and Feminine, Male and Female, God and Goddess. This is to create a better understanding of the Ultimate Oneness. The Christians also do this with their God the Father, Jesus the son and the Holy Spirit. So too as a Pagans do we have separate entities that form the ultimate Oneness. It is just easier to understand it in this way. The Human mind can only comprehend something to which it can relate in some or other way and therefore we also have Patron Goddesses and Gods. In showing us one of their many faces, the Gods introduce themselves to us in a way that we will understand. Therefore you will always have something in common with your Patron Gods.

As humans we rely on our physical senses to survive in this existence and as a way of comparing concepts of an unseen spiritual nature, in other words we really find it difficult to lock into an idea or concept that we cannot see, touch, taste, feel or hear. Even the visions of the highly evolved humans are experienced, for instance a Christian will go to Church and come back and tell you how they felt the Holy Spirit move, or a Buddhist will tell you how at one he/ she feels after meditation or a yoga practitioner will tell you how centred or grounded they feel after a yoga session, we all equate experience with reality, we need to experience divinity in some way in order to feel “connected” if you will. It is the only way in which we can begin to understand and assimilate spiritual experiences. Let alone share them with others. So, to assist humans who seldom or never activated their visualization processes, the ancient spiritual leaders devised concrete visual symbols to aid in the worship of the Divine. The first symbols were paintings on the walls of sacred caves and little clay Mammoth ivory figures such as the Venus of Willendorf, which dates back to about 25 000 BCE. The initiate of ancient beliefs warned their followers that an image was not a reality; they spoke of images as visual symbols of subjective ideas. The images of these “Goddesses” were not intended as items to be worshipped, but as a visual aid of the various aspects of the Deity that was truly being worshipped. For instance on my altar I have a visual aid of Shiva, I DO NOT pray to this image, I do not offer worship to this symbol of the God that I love and worship, it only acts as a trigger to my subconscious, it assists me to personalize my Deity.

“There are two sides to this tale. On the one hand the many unite to become the Oneness and on the other hand the Oneness divides to become many. Things constantly shift between being united by love and divided by strife” — Empedocles –

Pagans revere both masculine and feminine equally although the Neo-Pagan movement of today often just lends itself towards the Goddess side of the religion. The reason for doing so would be in an attempt to ‘correct’ previous imbalances of the dominating male God. Although this can and has taken us to the other extreme, it gives a base for the feminist movement. Because women were so badly ‘branded’ by the one male God and His so called righteous male followers, they now fall to the other extreme of only Goddess worship and once again the balance is lost.

We therefore see the Divine duality in an eastern concept of Yin and Yang. The Divine dance of Polarity and not duality.

In Greece, above an ancient temple at Delphi, are words inscribed “Know thy self”. To many, this is probably the essence of Paganism. Ancient philosophers encouraged you to transcend your mortal identity and find your true self. When you have accomplished that, you will discover that your eternal and immortal essence is the one soul of the universe – the Mind of God.

Many people believe that pagan philosophers were dry intellectuals, that is however far from the truth. Ancient philosophers could be compared to modern day Hindu Gurus. Pythagoras for one will always be remembered as a brilliant mathematician, but he was also a very charismatic sage, who dressed in long white flowing robes and wore a coronet on his head. He was believed to have performed countless of miracles, which includes raising someone from the dead. He apparently knew all of his past lives as well as the past lives of his followers. He could hear the essential harmony of the cosmos and called it the music of the spheres. He was the first man to call himself a philosopher and a lover of wisdom, together with the likes of Empedocles, Socrates, Plato, Leonardo DaVince, Walt Disney and many others.

The great minds of the ancients were inspired by the mystical expression of the Pagan Spirit. In these ancient times the Pagan religions were also referred to as the Mysteries. The ancients held the mysteries to the very foundation of their culture. Zosimos (a Greek historian) wrote, that without the mysteries, life for the Greeks would be unlivable, for the sacred mysteries held the human race together.

These sacred teachings of the mysteries were divided into two different groups; the Mystae and the Epoptae.

The Scholars of the Mystae were the ordinary country or common folk, who practiced simple forms of magick and the mysteries. These scholars were also not initiated by a Priestess or Priest of the mysteries, because traveling to the city for the sole purpose of initiation was just not heard of. Thus self-initiations and family Covens were born. To these scholars the myths of the Divine were merely stories to entertain or to tell children at bedtime.

The scholars of the Epoptae were the initiated followers of the mysteries who understood that the myths, which were told as stories, contained profound spirituals teachings. These teachings were understood as great allegories. They were the ‘more’ educated scholars who came from the city and who would be the future High Priestesses and High Priests.

Therefore the meanings of the words: Mystae and Epoptae.

Mystae, which is the root word for mystery and mysticism means ‘eyes closed’.

Epoptae, the scholars of the ‘Inner Mysteries’, means ‘to have seen’.

After the Roman Invasion, the ’simple people’ of the country who practiced earth magick lived in peace alongside the ’sophisticated’ city people who had their pantheistic beliefs. They lived side by side in perfect harmony and both were considered as Pagans. Until the Roman Emperor Constantine on the year 325AD in collaboration with the church restructured the bible for political gain. He saw a way in which he could control the world and thus the Christian Bible, as we know it was created to control people and steer them away from the mysteries.

Today a great amount of terms will be found under the ‘Pagan Tree’, which affects on the individuals understanding and experience of the Divine from within and without. Terms such as Wicca, Shamanism, Druidism, Asatru, Voodoo ect.

Gardner said that the meaning of it all lies in the deepest levels of the human mind, in the collective unconscious and in the earliest developments of human society.

In conclusion: Paganism (to me) is not just a religion or belief system alone, but a way of life.

Being a Wiccan, Scott Cuningham called it ‘Living Wicca’.

A lot of chakra balancing techniques exist, see Balancing And Clarifying Your Chakras for more information on this topic.

1 – Root chakra

The Root chakra is about being physically there and feeling at home in situations. If it is open, you feel grounded, stable and secure. You don’t unnecessarily distrust people. You feel present in the here and now and connected to your physical body. You feel you have sufficient territory.

If you tend to be fearful or nervous, your Root chakra is probably under-active. You’d easily feel unwelcome.

If this chakra is over-active, you may be very materialistic and greedy. You’re probably obsessed with being secure and resist change.

2 – Sacral chakra

The Sacral chakra is about feeling and sexuality. When it is open, your feelings flow freely, and are expressed without you being over-emotional. You are open to intimacy and you can be passionate and lively. You have no problems dealing with your sexuality.

If you tend to be stiff and unemotional or have a “poker face,” the Sacral chakra is under-active. You’re not very open to people.

If this chakra is over-active, you tend to be emotional all the time. You’ll feel emotionally attached to people and you can be very sexual.

3 – Navel chakra (Solar Plexus)

The Navel chakra is about asserting yourself in a group. When it is open, you feel in control and you have sufficient self esteem.

When the Navel chakra is under-active, you tend to be passive and indecisive. You’re probably timid and don’t get what you want.

If this chakra is over-active, you are domineering and probably even aggressive.

4 – Heart chakra

The Heart chakra is about love, kindness and affection. When it is open, you are compassionate and friendly, and you work at harmonious relationships.

When your Heart chakra is under-active, you are cold and distant.

If this chakra is over-active, you are suffocating people with your love and your love probably has quite selfish reasons.

5 – Throat chakra

The Throat chakra is about self-expression and talking. When it is open, you have no problems expressing yourself, and you might be doing so as an artist.

When this chakra is under-active, you tend not to speak much, and you probably are introverted and shy. Not speaking the truth may block this chakra.

If this chakra is over-active, you tend to speak too much, usually to domineer and keep people at a distance. You’re a bad listener if this is the case.

6 – Third Eye chakra

The Third Eye chakra is about insight and visualization. When it is open, you have a good intuition. You may tend to fantasize.

If it is under-active, you’re not very good at thinking for yourself, and you may tend to rely on authorities. You may be rigid in your thinking, relying on beliefs too much. You might even get confused easily.

If this chakra is over-active, you may live in a world of fantasy too much. In excessive cases hallucinations are possible.

7 – Crown chakra

The Crown chakra is about wisdom and being one with the world. When this chakra is open, you are unprejudiced and quite aware of the world and yourself.

If it is under-active, you’re not very aware of spirituality. You’re probably quite rigid in your thinking.

If this chakra is over-active, you are probably intellectualizing things too much. You may be addicted to spirituality and are probably ignoring your bodily needs.

I find this answer very interesting, you can answer any question in the world using this answer and yet when somebody objects to your answer, that person (assuming that person is very religious), will take it as an attack on “his” religion.

There’s a saying that goes something in the line of, what science can’t explain, is religion.

I believe science and spirituality goes hand in hand, especially when you have some background in physics (especially quantum). The more I study quantum physics, the more it interconnects with spirituality and contradict religions in general. Orthodox religions contradict each other anyway whereas their mystical meanings tie in perfectly with each other as well as spirituality and science (mystical for example: Christianity -> Gnosticism, Jewish -> Kabbalah, Judaism -> Hasidism, Islam -> Sufism etc etc etc).

Not trying to make a point or anything, just thought the answer on the physics paper should make for an interesting topic of discussion.

The first I called my empath woes and went as follows:

A long time ago, because I was being overwhelmed by the emotions of other people, I found a way to block out those that weren’t relevant to me and only receive those where I could be of some benefit. That worked fine, till now…

I just had an experience that has left me shaken and quite drained. There was this guy who added me on FB. I didn’t know him, but kinda knew him from some psychic groups I was on, and because I felt he was ‘okay’ I added him. I hardly had any dealings with him though, apart from on the groups. Today, a little while ago, I went on FB and saw that he had left the group he created and deleted all his posts, he was no longer in my friend list and when I searched for him, I couldn’t send a message to him. I felt really worried about him, even though I hardly knew him, so I asked some ‘mutual friends’ if they knew what was going on. I don’t think they do, but I think one of them might know something and not want to say. I checked him again and he had deleted his FB profile and he’s not on there at all, confirmed by the mutual friends. By this stage I was feeling overwhelmed by emotion, heartache, deep sadness and real hurt. I had a headache from it and felt like crying uncontrollably.

This wasn’t any of my emotion, so I can only assume its from him. I felt like crying, and felt totally despairing, I felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders. One of the ‘mutual friends’ helped me to come to grips with all of it and do a cord cutting and grounding, which got ‘rid’ of the emotion and it was totally gone.

I have two problems with this incident. The first is that obviously my blocks aren’t working anymore, or my guides have seen fit to remove them for some reason *Satyr looks sternly at her guides* and the second is that why was I ‘made’ to feel this when there isn’t really anything I can do about it. Yes, I know I can send healing and energy and I have done so, but I’ll probably never know what the problem is or if he gets over it. I want to help, but feel like my hands are tied cause I have no way of contacting him to see if he’s okay.

Okay, so here’s my rant (sorry, although the emotions have gone, they kinda mucked me up) WHY THE FLIPPING HELL AM I MADE TO FEEL THIS WHEN THERE’S NOT MUCH I CAN DO TO HELP THE SITUATION!!!
Then, an update to this situation though, that makes everything make more sense.

The emotion I was feeling was so overwhelming that i was getting confused and allocated the emotion to the ‘missing friend’ which seemed to be the logical solution, however, said friend came back and seems fine, BUT, the person who helped me come to grips with all of this, is having issues and it seems that the emotion I was feeling was from her and not who I thought. Thats makes more sense, cause her I can try to help. It seems its gonna take me a while to get the hang of this empath stuff again.

And, another update on this

Last night, I had a dream which was basically about me and two others being in a hotel/hotel room and we had a bulldog with us. The two focal points of the dream, are the hotel and the dog (because those were the things that played the biggest roles in the dream). When I awoke, I had a clear vision of two spiders and a beetle.

I looked up the aspects of the dream and got the following interpretations (PS: I don’t often remember my dreams and my dreams are usually full of sybolism, not direct info):

Dog
To see a dog in your dream, symbolizes intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. The dream suggests that your strong values and good intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and bring you success. Alternatively, it indicates a skill that you have ignored or forgotten.

Dogs may also show up in dreams as guides, much like seeing eye dogs. They may be leading us into worlds we can’t see but which they navigate with ease. Look at the surroundings in the dream and see where the dog is leading you. This can be a key clue in interpreting the dream. The dog may be leading you toward an area of your life that you may be having trouble seeing or ‘looking at’.

Dogs are often attributed with psychic sense. They are believed to have the ability to see ghosts and other energetic phenomena. In that context, dreams of dogs may indicate that we are developing our own psychic sense.

Hotel
To see a hotel in your dream, signifies a new state of mind or a shift in personal identity. You are undergoing some sort of transition and need to move away from your old habits and old way of thinking. You need to temporarily escape from your daily life.?Alternatively, the dream may imply a loss in your personal identity.

Spiders and beetle
They both seem to indicate destructive influences.

Beetle
To see a beetle in your dream, indicates that some destructive influences may be at work in your waking life. You may also feel that your values and beliefs are being compromised. If you dream that beetles are crawling all over you, then it indicates that a lot of minor issues are bugging you.

Spiders
To see a spider in your dream, indicates that you are feeling like an outsider in some situation. Or that you may want to keep your distance and stay away from an alluring and tempting situation. The spider is also symbolic of feminine power. Alternatively, a spider may refer to a powerful force protecting you against your self-destructive behavior.

Two (as in two spiders)
Two
Two stands for balance, diversity, partnership, soul, or receptivity. It can also symbolize double weakness or double strength. There is a duality as in male and female, mother and father, yin and yang, etc.

It seems to me that the experience and the dream are connected and that perhaps its telling me, that I need to open up the empath part of me again and that I need to approach it with a new state of mind. I think its also confirmation of what i am doing about improving my psychic sense, that I am doing the right thing.

Then, a few days after that, the second happening, which I found really exciting.

Something really exciting happened to me now. I was on a Medium/psychic group on FB and someone was asking for a medium to help her make contact with someone she recently lost. As I was reading the post, I got an image of a man smoking a pipe, so, feeling a bit silly (cause I’m not a medium), I answered anyway and asked her if a man smoking a pipe meant anything to her. She replied saying she wants to add me as a friend to chat, so I accepted and this is basically what happened.

She told me that her grandpa that passed about 15 years ago used to smoke a pipe but it was her dad that recently passed. As she wrote that, my hands started shaking, so I asked her if her dad had some problem that made him shake. She replied that he did shake but that she didn’t know if it was a medical problem and she was only aware recently that his hands shook.  I said that I saw a picture of photo that was important in some way and she replied that when he died, they were all given a beautiful black and white photo of him. I then said asked if her dad had a dog, cause I saw a small, black or dark coloured dog. She said that he personally hadn’t had a dog for a while, but they did have a small miniture black and tan dog that he loved and that they had given away about a month prior to his death.

After that I didn’t really get anything else, but she seemed happy with what I told her – and I had told her that I was not a medium and that I was still quite new to all the psychic stuff.

Cool hey! Do you think it was her dad and grandpa that I was picking up on?

And so, it seems, my life yet again becomes more interesting.

I didn’t do research before embarking on the readings, thinking ‘its just readings’, but I was really wrong. It takes a lot of time and energy to do readings and if you aren’t careful, you end up totally depleted of energy. Now, when doing readings, I limit myself to 3 a day (until I get more used to it), after the reading, I cut myself off from the person I did the reading for, I ground and drink water. So far, so good.

Two other things, I did my first reading using my unicorn cards and got quite good feedback on that, however, on the flip side, on one of the fairy card readings I did, I didn’t do so well and didn’t get much right in the reading. Its a learning curve though, so I’m not going to let one failure get me down.

Otherwise, life is still good.

We did find it and started walking around. I felt an almost overwhelming sadness while I was there. Its extremely overgrown and you basically had to bundu bash to find graves. A lot of them didn’t have headstones, or the headstones had been broken off. There were some that had wooden headstones and the writing had been worn or faded away, so there is no way of knowing who they were. They weren’t all in the same place. There are graves there of men, women and quite a few babies/children.

We also saw two large candles in a couple of places and I’m thinking that people have been doing rituals there. Hopefully good ones and not bad. I spent a moment at each grave just wishing Blessed Be to the person there and before we left, I sat quietly and did a soul rescue to help any souls that might have been trapped there.

I found it a very moving, but very sad experience. May they all rest in peace.

My brother and I was living in a house in a peaceful middle class area, my mom was either visiting or she was also living in the same house, can’t remember the detail that well.

My brother was busy playing PC games on my server while I was having a workout session in another room when I suddenly heard my mom’s voice screaming something about the “War of Gaza”, her voice was overwhelmed by the sound of tanks and troops surrounding the house.

Troops would then lie down outside the house on a piece of open field that was raised slightly higher than the height of the windows, scan the house with some long distance x-ray contraption gizmo and raise their machine guns with laser beams which was jumping around in my room with the target occasionally being on my body.

Every 5 minutes I’ll see a different target targeting objects in the house (it’s a red plus sign encircled with the line ends of the plus ending in a perpendicular line that would make a square if you extend them), while some sergeant would scream, “BLACK BOMB” and you would hear that distinct sound of a mortar being launched but it never exploded or reached the ground for that matter.

I was packing my clothes in a bag to get away from the house when I heard gunshots coming from the next room; my brother was playing war games on the server PC with the volume at maximum, it sounded so realistic that I thought they were starting to infiltrate the house when my mom screamed at him to turn down the volume as the troops might think we’re armed. Then some random sheepdog ran into the room which looked just like my grandmother’s deceased sheepdog, completely random.

While packing, I realized that I didn’t have a single piece of clothing that wasn’t torn or ripped to shreds, I started packing and just then I heard the troops raising their machine guns while the sergeant shouted “BLACK BOMB” … it suddenly got dark and then I woke up.

At first I though this was just a dream, but after writing it down, I came to realize that my subconscious was trying to communicate a message to me …

The house symbolizes an image of one-self, the war trying to destroy the house is an abstraction of outer-conflict which threatens to destroy the self-image, the inner conflict does not exist as the war-games being played is fake, there is no inner conflict, only my brother playing the war games. Also, one’s brother is a symbol of a certain personality trait inside yourself, since he was playing with fire and being a daredevil in the most inappropriate situation, I believe the personality trait which is causing this feeling of doubt (whether there is inner conflict or not), is the fact that I’m currently putting a lot on the line while taking on big corporations head-on. The dog symbolizes rage or suppressed anger coming out into the open due to what is happening all around me. Black refers to negative emotions while the bombs all refer to anger / pressure building up, up to the point of literally exploding with anger or from pressure building up. The clothes I was trying to pack in refers to my persona and attitude towards life, if the outer conflict destroys my self-image (house), all I have left is torn clothes or an attitude that I’m used to life’s hardship by now and more of it is welcome, although it still terrifies me in the dream.

What I believe my subconsciouses is trying to tell me is that I should let go of all the pressure building up and anger building up from not getting things to run smoothly my way, the inner conflict I can control and I have the right to control it as it is happening inside my house, but the coming outer conflict I have very little control over (negotiations with companies trying to steal my ideas or trying to rip me off with low class offers) and if it means packing my bag with torn clothes and leaving the house (maintain the same life attitude as always even if they destroy my self-image in the process), I should do it and not look back as the anger and pressure building up could destroy me anytime if I cling onto maintaining a self-image (the black mortars not detonating immediately). I believe this is a warning about massive changes about to happen in my life and how I should be handling them.

Wish me luck for tomorrow, I was terrified about screwing up the outcome until figuring out this dream, one should not cling onto an outcome as a measure of success, but rather dare to dream, give it your best and if you do screw up, you didn’t really screw up, you only had an expensive training course on how not to screw up!

I have no idea why I hesitated so long before putting more effort into this. When I draw the cards and look at them, the meanings just seems to flow into my head and its almost like I can’t write it down fast enough. The fairies are obviously with me every step of the way and I am truly grateful to them and my guides.

I have various sets of oracle cards, fairy, unicorn, angel and wisdom cards, but I seem to have the best connection with the fairy cards and wisdom cards.  When I do reiki treatments, I do a wisdom card reading at the end for my client and its been going pretty well too.

If your goal in life is to be happy, then you should be happy right now, not tomorrow, or next week, but right now. Planning to be happy tomorrow while doing something that doesn’t make you happy will not lead to happiness tomorrow.

Having a goal in life to live a peaceful and stress free life of relaxation, you’ll need to be living that kind of lifestyle right now to achieve that kind of lifestyle in the future; preparing to relax is not the path to relaxation. If you prepare to relax, you’ll keep on preparing and never get the time to relax, until one day the Grim Reaper takes you away and forces you to relax.

Remember, listen to your heart and make your life goals happen NOW!

Its just a bit frustrating to have to get all the case studies together. I need 10 to get my level 1 certificate and another 10 before I can start level 2, but I enjoy doing the sessions so its cool…

The father of all these beings invites you.

When you are being rebuked and maltreated,

he will not forsake you.

Do not wash yourselves with death,

nor rely on those who are inferior

as if they were superior.

Flee the madness and the fetter of femaleness

and choose the salvation of maleness.

You have come not to suffer

but to break your fetters.

Break free, and what has bound you will be broken.

Save yourselves so that part may be saved.

The good father has sent you the savior

and has strengthened you.

Why are you waiting? Seek when you are sought.

Do not be led astray.

Great is the eternal realm of the eternal realms

of the living,

but great also is the punishment of the unconvinced.

Many fetters and punishers surround you.

Get away quickly before destruction overtakes you.

Look to the light, fly from the darkness.

Do not be led astray to destruction.
