Life Is Made Of Glass

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

All, if not most, religions share a common philosophy at the core of its existence, designed to maintain a sense of harmony between people, no matter their cultural background, lifestyle or upbringing.

It’s really simple, respect others and you will in turn get the same respect.

Buddhism
Putting oneself in the place of another, one should not kill nor cause another to kill.

Christianity
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Confucianism
Never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself.

Hinduism
One should never do that to another which one regards as injurious to one’s own self.

Islam
Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.

Judaism
The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as one of your citizens; you shall love him as yourself.

Taoism
Regard your neighbor’s gain as your own gain and your neighbor’s loss as your own loss.

Thelema
Love is the law, love under will.

Wicca (Wiccan Rede)
An ye harm none, do what ye will.

Life is made of glass, it’s fragile, the human race don’t need religious based conflicts and wars on top of that as well.

Wise words from a Tibetan Monk

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

A Tibetan monk once taught his students a very simple and profound way of approaching life, if the path you’re walking doesn’t lead to the goal you’re aiming for, then it’s most likely the wrong path.

If your goal in life is to be happy, then you should be happy right now, not tomorrow, or next week, but right now. Planning to be happy tomorrow while doing something that doesn’t make you happy will not lead to happiness tomorrow.

Having a goal in life to live a peaceful and stress free life of relaxation, you’ll need to be living that kind of lifestyle right now to achieve that kind of lifestyle in the future; preparing to relax is not the path to relaxation. If you prepare to relax, you’ll keep on preparing and never get the time to relax, until one day the Grim Reaper takes you away and forces you to relax.

Remember, listen to your heart and make your life goals happen NOW!
